taqueria el rinconsito 6:40pm Dec. 18 2019 - i placed an order via the drivethru .at the Kent location on Central Ave. and total charge for dinner was $39.35....i signed and agreed to a $1.65 tip totalling $41.00 for all charges. shortly after this i recieved an email regarding acct activity. it showed a total of $47.22 as the total charge from taqueria el rinconsito... because of the discrepancy... i went back to the restaurant with my purchase and the email notification ..i spoke with the assistant manager and then she put me in contact with the owner "so i was told" ...this was via a cell phone.... once on the phone with this man... he told me that the only charges to my debit card that his company would recieve would be $39.35...Nothing more...no tip, etc... i then asked him... so where does the amt. that i showed as being the servers tip go? does it just stay in limbo somewhere and no one benefits from this? i added a tip for this server in the drivethru of $1.65 to the total charges for the food that i ordered which put the total charges that should have been debited from my card at $41.00.....he stated that they dont deduct tips when they submit the total on card charges...Are you serious?? This makes no sense whatsoever... i have worked at enough restaurants in my past to know there is something very wrong with how this business is accounting for actual item charges and tips that they do recieve on a regular basis...Ultimately.... l am certain that i signed a debit card reciept for items rendered totalling $39.35 plus $1.65 for a tip ...totaling $41.00....i then was charged $47.22 to my debit card and when i brought this to their attention and wanted resolution... i was given nothing but excuses why this did not concern and that i should be in contact with my cardholder....i left my name and phone # with the asst mgr so they could contact me tomorrow morning after they looked into the matter...Are you F@#*NG KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW??
I have never seen or heard of a more unbusiness like way that a company dealt with serious issues regarding their customers and charges that were clearly invalid and obviouly an error by the company or its employees....i will never go this place ever again.. nor will i recommend it to anyone for future business....im waiting on a call back about this whole mess from someone in the...
Read moreI've been to so many so called restaurants and nothing even comes close to the truly authentic flavor of Tacos and Burritos served at this location. It is a very unexpected treasure; as it is in the corner of a busy intersection. Next to it is a vehicle service station and behind it the train tracks.
My wife and I enjoy our share of international cuisine and our favorites are Mexican,Italian, Chinese and Caribbean, in that order. So when we venture on the roads, we look for out of the norm restaurants and "Mom and Pop" dinners to review and post on Yelp, FB and nor Google Plus (+).
Okay enough about that....now about the food. Let me say that even though it is part of a chain, it is no way a top of the line restaurant. It is simply a typical Taqueria. If you are looking for good food, then you have found it!!! I couldn't believe the explosion of flavors in my palate as I enjoyed a Lunch Special Pork Burrito. Then what surprised me even more was the portion size. My wife had the Enchiladas Regulares (Regular) and she had the same reaction that I had. We were amazed of how wonderful our food tasted and we had not even spent $13.00 between the two of us. Add a drink or any delicious natural juices and you are shy of $16-18 dollars. Again, if you are truly searching for a wonderful lunch or dinner without the thrills of a restaurant, then you have to try these guys out!
I haven't visited other stores within the chain, but I can't assume that they are any different.
Give them a try, at least you can say you tried it and for under $20!!!!...
Read moreWe waited a total of 46min to wait for our food. We were given a number and asked to wait in the lot after ordering through the drive-thru. After watching people come and go, I began to get impatient. I went inside and asked them how long it would take and they told me it would be another 20min. I informed them that I had already been in the lot for 35min and the lady asked for a receipt. Then turned and looked through a bag that was on the counter. She asked another lady in Spanish how long it was there for and the other lady replied, “ I don’t know, ten maybe fifteen?” The lady handed me the food and apologized for the wait, then I asked her if my food was still hot, her replying yes it was just done. Maybe she assumed I didn’t speak Spanish because she lied straight to my face. After already waiting a total of 46 minutes, I decided to just leave as I was late for other business. As I arrived home and took out my food, I couldn’t help but to wonder why this would even be sold; I ordered a torta and as you can see, it was deformed and soggy. All of our food was cold, so we had to microwave it. No one should ever have microwave food after they order from ANYWHERE. Period. We live 7mins away. Not long enough for our food to go as cold as it was. This place was recommended from a relative but I personally would not recommend it to anyone. Based on this experience, I will NEVER bring my business here. This happened on May 5th from...
